movie scene

It was suddenly clear now what had happened. And my heart sank as I tried to convince myself that the white men who had been killed were bad people and deserved to die. But it was no use. I tried to believe that Wind In His Hair and Kicking Bird and all the other people who shared in the killing were not so happy for having done it. But they were.

As I looked at familiar faces, I realized that the gap between us was greater than I could ever have imagined.

The buffalo hunting scenes were gorgeous. Although I am personally turned off by hunting in any form, the majesty and cultural value reflected in the buffalo hunt, as well as the expertise in filming it, are inspiring. As a woman of Cherokee ancestry, I am always moved by the love with which Mr. Costner imbued this film. Many thanks, Kevin. - Asha
